简介 :
俗名白尾新娘。棲息於礁區、近海沿岸，深度10-60公尺，無毒性，不可食用，有觀賞價值，不是經濟性魚類，分布於印度至太平洋，產於臺灣南部，最大體長8 cm，模式種產於中國海。
形態特徵 :
體橢圓形；背部輪廓略突出，XIII-XIV，軟條16-17；臀鰭硬棘III，軟條16-18；背鰭與臀鰭軟條部後端尖形；腹鰭尖形，第一棘幾達臀鰭；尾鰭截形。體一致為紫藍色，胸部則偏黃或紅。背鰭、臀鰭及腹鰭亦為紫藍色而有水藍色邊；胸鰭淡黃色，基部藍色；尾鰭基部有一條白色窄橫帶，後部灰色或軟條偏黃或紅色。黃尾刺尻魚(Centropyge flavicauda Fraser-Brunner, 1933)為本種之同種異名。
棲所生態 :
棲息於水道或岩礁斜坡上的珊瑚底質水域。草食性。行雌性先成熟的性轉變行為。
地理分布 :
分布於印度-太平洋區，西起東非洲，東至土木土群島，北至日本南部，南至澳洲新南威爾斯。臺灣南部海域可見其蹤跡。
